Flower Pot Candy Bouquet Tutorial

A few weeks ago James and I began teaching 1st-5th grade Sunday School at our church. We wanted to give the kids a special gift since it was the kick-off for Sunday School. I wanted something to go along with our lesson – “The Parable of the Sower.” After scouring Pinterest for ideas and not finding exactly what I wanted, I came up with the idea of a flower pot candy bouquet.

This would make a cute favor for any garden themed event. If  you do not want to use lollipops, you can purchase lollipop sticks at Walmart or other craft store and attach it to the type of candy of your choice.

All of the supplies I purchased from Dollar Tree. The cost per pot was about $1.

Supplies for 12 Flower Pots (Available at Dollar Tree):

  • 1 Pack Plastic Flower pots
  • 3 Blocks Florist Foam
  • 3 Bags Lollipops (8-10 per pot)
  • 2 Bags Green Grass
  • 2 Packs Plant Labels (optional)
  • Parable Sower Verse Sheet or Create Your Own
  • Favor Bags
  • String or Ribbon
  • Glue Sticks (for paper)
  • Glue & Hot Glue Gun
  • Tacky/Craft Glue

Instructions:

Cut each piece of foam into 4 sections. Trim the edges to fit the pot. Add a small dab of hot glue to the center of the bottom of each piece of foam and place in each pot.

Trim verses and attach to the plant labels with a glue stick (or other glue of your choice).

Press the lollipops into the foam along with the verse marker. (Don’t overfill as the pot will become top-heavy).

Add some dabs of tacky glue to the foam in between the lollipops and around the top edges. Fill in the gaps with grass – you will want to tuck some into the sides of the pot around the foam to cover the edges of the foam.

Allow the glue to dry and then place each pot in a clear plastic favor bag and tie with string or ribbon.

  1. I enjoyed reading through this article, it’s really nice. I might have a suggestion, but I’m not causing a quarrel 😀 Keep up the awesome work, and ’til later!
